Hi, great art around here guys, and I'm so glad to join this blog, with so much talents ! This is my very first post here, the entry for EoW 167, and some old stuff, so I hope you guys like it, thanks a lot.

Zomdies and gentlezombs, since mr. Mateja is really busy lately, i took the liberty of providing Ryan with his own zombie self. Woot!

Doodles, Mugs, and Naked People

Busy week of studying. I thought I would try to throw down with the rest of you guys. I've a nice assortment of sketches and what not to share. I'm mostly working on a series called Paintings of Dead Girls at the moment, it's for a large body of work called Death Grip. The oils are coming along, still pretty close to the source material, but that will change. Anyway, I'm psyched about joining you all, hopefully I won't drag the place down.

Flemish Study

Hi,

I was a bit inspired by Lance's post with the digital process following someone's oil process, so I decided to try it myself. I did a study of someone's tutorial on flemish oil painting which is the classical technique. I don't normally spend two days on my studies but I definitely felt like I learned quite a bit doing this one. In Painter 12.



And here are the 7 (or rather 8) steps for the flemish study. The paint layers were all at 80% opacity so that there would be some transparency like oil paint.

Another pseudo-psychedelic Painter sketch.

Android-ish

Just playing with Android's workspace in Painter. I actually like the result even if comes dangerously close to his style. His brushes are named things like Huxley, Watts, Hoffman, and McKenna! hahaha

Also I got a new MAC (after using Windows all of these long years) and this was done with it.

Goblin Endeavour

Tried to get some movement in this, fooling around with motion blur and stuff.

Studies

Alright, some stuff from today.

First some anatomy studies. I drew the skeleton over an image and then drew the muscular system on top of that. And then I did a portrait of Goombvar who as an aborigine and didgeridoo master that my dad met in Australia. And finally a self portrait which is really, really bad if I do say so. Well, I guess not all of Android's SP were that great either, but if you thought "Well none of them were THIS BAD either," then you are correct! D:







Edit: just got rid of the SP. Yes, it's THAT bad. I'll do another one tomorrow or something to make up for it.

Zombie Benjie!

Alright guys, I've just finished zombie morphing mister Benjie. Guess I'm gonna be the one breaking the ice. Can't wait to see your pieces!

My name is Evan Norman and I am a new poster here. My handle on CA is 'Thyname'. I am in my 2nd semester at TAD and I sit right next to Alex Konstad who also posts here.

I just updated my blog and wrote a bit on the Fear of Failure, probably not the same kind of information that I can just copy and paste over here.

Here is some art work that I have done in the past couple of weeks. I had to stop attending the figure sessions at school because my wedding is at the end of the month and finals are due next week.
